Premix signs $79.9 million contract for a new production facility in the US

Premix, Inc., subsidiary of Premix Group, has signed a $79.9 million contract with the U.S. Department of Defense and the Department of Health and Human Services.

Premix Group is a Finnish orinated company, who has a history of more than 40 year, and is a market leader and global forerunner in electrically conductive plastics.

The contract is to establish a plastic compound manufacturing plant in Gaston County, located in North Carolina.

The new factory will primarily produce plastic materials for diagnostic testing. The black conductive plastic is material for robotic pipette tips. The low retention liquid sensitive pipette tips are consumables of automatic workstations. Hamilton Robotics, Tecan, Beckmen, Agilent, Olympus, Qiagen and etc. are all using this kind of robotic pipette tips.

The factory is planned to be operational by September 2025.

The new state-of-the-art facility is to meet the growing demand and stringent quality requirements for diagnostic testing. The increased production capacity will result in material for pipette tips enabling more than 200 million COVID-19 PCR tests monthly.
